City of Newark Scheduled Pick up
Yard waste (bundles under 40 lbs. and less than 4 feet in length or 32-gallon containers under 40 lbs.). A maximum of six (6) bundles or six (6) containers or any combination of the two will be accepted free of charge. Yard waste in bags will not be accepted.
To inquire about fees or to schedule a pickup, you may call Public Works at (302) 366-7045.
Another option provided by New Castle County
New Castle County
also maintains a drop-off site, where you can take your yard
waste. For this drop-off site there is no requirement
to have your yard waste in containers or bundles, just pull
in and unload the waste. They will take all yard
waste, grass, leaves, branches (up to 4 inches in diameter),
etc. I have used these facilities several times this
year. Saves having to tie items into bundles or
cutting them up to fit into containers.
There is also free mulch available at this site.
